Raising Awareness for World AIDS Day 2024:Celebrating 11 Years with Red Ball
December 1st marks World AIDS Day, a vital time to reflect on the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS, honor those we’ve lost, and support the global effort toward education, prevention, and treatment. Here in Colorado, the day is also a celebration of community, creativity, and compassion through the annual Red Ball, hosted by the Colorado Health Network.
Red Ball is more than a fashion show—it’s a dynamic blend of art, advocacy, and action. This runway extravaganza spotlights the talents of local designers, models, and performers while raising crucial funds to support individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. Every stitch, step, and spotlight contributes to a brighter future for those impacted by this global epidemic.
Sheila Broderick Photography, we’ve had the honor of being part of this incredible event since 2013. Each year, we photograph the stunning runway collections and capture attendees as they step into the spotlight on the iconic step-and-repeat. Red Ball is not just an event for us; it’s a tradition, a mission, and a celebration of resilience and creativity in our community.
Why World AIDS Day and Red Ball Matter
Despite advances in HIV treatment and prevention, the fight is far from over. World AIDS Day reminds us of the work still to be done:
• Globally, over 38 million people are living with HIV/AIDS.
• Stigma and misinformation remain significant barriers to care.
• Events like Red Ball provide critical resources and amplify voices for change.
By supporting the Red Ball, you contribute directly to the Colorado Health Network’s efforts, ensuring access to life-saving care, prevention programs, and advocacy.
Join Us in 2025, we will see you there!
